Strings For A Cause

Welcome

Music has a rare ability to bring people together. It crosses language, culture, and age, and it can make a stranger feel welcome in a room full of people. At Strings For A Cause, we put that ability to work

We are a youth-led band of siblings Roshan and Amira, who both play the violin, primarily in the Carnatic style of South India. We are joined by guest musicians on the veena and the tabla, two traditional instruments from India, and we love sharing music from many cultures. What unites us is a simple belief: young people are not only the future of their communities, they are already a powerful force in them today.

Every time we perform, we have a purpose beyond the music. Sometimes it is raising funds to fee children who might otherwise go hungry. Sometimes it is brightening an afternoon for seniors who feel isolated. Sometimes it is helping neighbors learn about and celebrate a culture that is new t them. In each case, our goal is the same: to leave people feeling more connected, more hopeful, and
more kind than when we arrived.

Our mission

Strings For A Cause exists to use music for good. We support charitable and social causes, involve young people in meaningful community service through the performing arts, and build partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to a kinder world.

What we do

What we do

01

We perform with purpose.

Each concert supports a cause, whether that means raising money for a charity, entertaining a community that needs company, or promoting cultural understanding.

02

We lead as young people.

Every member of our band is under 25. We believe young musicians learn the most about generosity and leadership when they are trusted to take part in real projects with real impact.

03

We join hands with others.

We work alongside festivals, schools, temples, universities, and nonprofits, because a cause is always stronger when many people stand behind it.

OUR WORK

No one should grow old without shelter, food, or a song.

Our projects meet the most basic needs of elderly and poor people with no income, and remind them they are not forgotten.
